In the small, tranquil village of Maciejowiec (formerly Matzdorf) with only around 120 inhabitants and its history going back to the Middle Ages, on the edge of the forest, there is the "Old Castle", a Renaissance manor house, built in 1627-1632 on the Castle Hill. Sorrounded by historical buildings partly in need of renovation.
In the 1960s, apartments for the employees of the state forest were built in the former stables set among 14 hectares of beautiful forest surroundings.
We have acquired some of them and, after loving and extensive refurbishment, made them available to our guests as holiday rentals. Since the building is not yet fully in our possession, the renovation of the facade has been delayed, but we remain hopeful that this last detail will soon be pleasing to the eye.
At the moment there is one holiday apartment available for guests, consisting of two separate, lockable rooms, both with ensuite bathrooms and a shared kitchenette.
Price per night (you rent the entire place to yourself): € 70-115
(depending on season, number of guests and length of rental)
Upon your wish we will discreetly deliver a picnic basket to the front of your door for breakfast - you are welcome to enjoy it in your room, or take it with you to the apple orchard or to the Wild Waterfall (a wonderful 20-minute walk through the forest).
